'It's Over!'Curtains down on an illustrious career

“It’s over. I’ve bowled my final ball. Taken my final wicket. Today I announce my retirement from all forms of cricket,” writes former Australian pace bowler, Mitchell Johnson. Another era comes to an end. In Perth Now, he wrote that due to exasperating back issues he had to draw curtains on a wonderful career. On 10th Novemeber 2007, Johnson made his test debut in Australian cricket against Sri Lanka. Johnson was in KKR team for Indian premiere league in January 2018.  He had retired from the international game in 2015 but had since played in Australia's Big Bash and the Indian Premier League. Johnson said he "had hoped to continue playing in various Twenty20 competitions around the world" but decided "it was time to move on" after struggling with back problems."My body is starting to shut down." Glitter and grandeur marks the opening ceremony of Asian games 2018

The opening ceremony of Asian games 2018 that took place in Jakarta on the 18th of August, 2018, took the world by awe with its spectacular curtain rising. A stellar show it was! With the President Joko Widodo making a splendid entry in a motorbike, to hundreds of dancers, artists and fireworks made it a million dollar show. There are 46 participating contingents. The Indian contingent was led by commonwealth games champion Neeraj Chopra.  Out of 572 Indian athletes , 312 men and 260 women will be participating in 36 sports in this edition of the Asian games. 6 players from Assam including Hima Das are taking part in different events . They are Pramila Daimary(archer) , Hima Das(athlete) , Shiva Thapa(boxer),Rodali Barua(Taekwondo),Ashmita Chaliha(Badminton) and Kavita Devi(Fencing). We wish all of them the very best.
